Starting rates for youth officials is $20/hr and adults is $25/hr. Opportunities for promotions are available.

Step One: Fill Out The Application
Your first step will be to fill out our application. Let’s address a few common questions before you click.
Step Two: Attend Official Training
Every sport we play has some kind of rules, even if that “sport” is dodgeball or hide-and-seek. A qualified referee helps to ensure the game is fair and stays on track. Making sure you’re qualified is important, which is why our sports official training sessions are mandatory. Consisting of a combination of online and in-person orientation. When you’re done, you’ll have what you need to start as a youth sports official in Northern IL.

with high standards for players and officials alike. That means you’ll need to be outfitted
with an appropriate uniform, and any of the gear that’s needed to effectively and safely

Who Can Apply?
Official Finders hires individuals ages 13 and up to officiate youth sports programs in the Chicagoland area. Maybe you love a particular sport, or you want to stay active, or you just need a paycheck. As long as you’re motivated, we’ll work with you.
How Does Training Work?
Great question. If you already know the rules of your chosen sport, you have a head start. Even if you don’t, don’t worry; our referee training program will ensure that you have the knowledge to be a great official.
Is the Schedule Flexible?
Our employees are mostly high school and college students, so we understand that you’ve got a busy life filled with studies and extracurriculars and that you still need time to blow off a little steam now and then. So you let us know when you’re available, and we’ll let you know where you’re needed during those times.
How’s the Pay?
Better than what you’d get for many other jobs. Depending on your experience and tenure with Official Finders, we pay between $18 and $35 per hour, which is more than you get from many other after-school or summer jobs.
